Privacy policy

Their progress. Their privacy.

The short version: BrimbleBay doesn't collect information about you or your children. Everything stays on your devices.

Last updated October 16, 2026. This policy covers the BrimbleBay app for iPad and iPhone and this website.

In plain words

  • No accounts, sign-ins, ads, analytics or tracking, in the app or on this website.
  • Children's names, progress, jars, drawings, photos and recordings stay on your device.
  • We, the makers of BrimbleBay, never receive them and can't see them.
  • Nothing leaves the app unless a grown-up chooses to send it, behind the parent passcode.

Who we are

BrimbleBay is made by Travis Douroux, an independent developer. You can reach us any time at travis@brimblebay.com.

What the app keeps, and where

To work, BrimbleBay saves a few things in the app's own storage on your device:

  • the first names or nicknames you add for your children, and their colours
  • learning progress, earned minutes, goals and history
  • your settings, such as which games are Open, Earn time or Hidden, quiet hours and limits
  • your parent passcode and any picture passwords
  • things children make, such as drawings, spin wheels and memory cards

This information is not sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes it.

If a future version of BrimbleBay offers iCloud sync, it will be off until a grown-up turns it on. It would use your family's own private iCloud account, which we can't see.

Camera, microphone and photos

Some games can use these, only when your child or you tap to use them. iOS asks for your permission first, and you can change it any time in Settings.

  • Camera: to take pictures for your own spin wheels, memory cards and drawings, and in Red Light, Green Light to spot wiggles. The camera picture never leaves the device.
  • Microphone: for grown-ups to record letter sounds, to record a child reading a story aloud, and to record a voice to remix in OrbitTune. Recordings stay on the device.
  • Photos: to choose pictures for spin wheels, memory cards and drawings, and to save drawings to your photo library.

Sharing and links

A few features let a grown-up print or share something, such as a practice sheet or a progress report for a teacher. These open only after the parent passcode or grown-up check, and use Apple's share sheet, so you choose exactly where they go. The same check guards every link out of the app.

Purchases

The family plan is bought, managed and cancelled through your Apple account, behind the parent passcode. Apple handles payment. We receive Apple's standard sales reports, which don't tell us who you are.

Crash reports

We don't add any crash or analytics tools. If you have chosen in your device's settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports.

Children's privacy

BrimbleBay is made for families with young children. We don't collect personal information from children, we don't show ads, and we don't let children buy anything or leave the app without a grown-up. Because we collect nothing, there is nothing for us to keep, share or sell.

This website

This site has no cookies, analytics, trackers, embedded videos or outside fonts. The company that hosts it may keep short technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site running and safe. We don't use them to identify anyone.

If you email us, we use your address only to reply, and we delete "tell me when it's ready" emails after we've written back.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change ever affected what happens to information, we'd say so in the app first.
